Further reflections:

I.  In William Shakespeare's play "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark," Hamlet asks the question "To be, or not to be," i.e. To Live and face life's "troubles," or Not to Live at all.

A reasonable perspective would be that just "Being" in North Carolina outweighs, or at least alleviates, many of life's problems that arise. This is an idea worth remembering and reflecting upon. As Ray L. Winstead says: "It's just nice to BE in NC!"

II.  North Carolina State Motto

The North Carolina State Motto is "Esse Quam Videri."  The motto in Latin was adopted by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1893 and means "To be, rather than to seem."  The saying: "It's just nice to BE in NC!" can also be thought of as being associated with the NC state motto.
